July 2016 Update

STORAGE HUT

Paddy's Litter Pickers now have use of the storage hut next to the bowling green, we can now store the grabbers, gloves, high viz jackets and bin bags. Jimmy has the key to the hut. I understand that there will be a key box with a key code fitted at some point this will avoid having to have one keyholder.

JUNE 2016 UPDATE

SUNDAY 5TH JUNE 2016

It was a beautiful day for litter picking.  8 volunteers kindly turned up. 

(John, Sue, Joan, Anne, James, Nadir, their daughter, and myself) 

Big thank you to everyone. President Jimmy of course was on one of his many jaunts elsewhere! I (Deborah) was left in charge of distributing grabbers and bags, I think I managed ok.

Mark from the Park (owner of cafe by the lake) helped with clearing overflowing bins and put a pot of coffee on for the volunteers.

It was nice that some of the volunteers were thanked by park users and told that their work was appreciated. It certainly makes it worthwhile.

Update May 2016

MAY 2016  PROGRESS

Things are certainly moving forward at a fast pace with other groups joining forces to keep our community clean and safe.

1st Pick Up
The first ever pick up by volunteers brought a day of rain, despite that six volunteers turned up.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Join us - 1st Sunday of each month in 2016.   10 am  Cafe by the Lake, Paddy Freemans Park. 

Safety Equipment will be provided.

 Paddy's litter pickers are volunteer dog walkers and park users dedicated to keeping Paddy Freemans Park a beautiful clean and tidy place for all to use. Free from rubbish, food and broken glass that can cause harm to animals and children.
